Latest Updates from Our Project:

Oops! I forgot to add this to an update. Actual play video.
over 5 years ago – Tue, Dec 08, 2020 at 05:18:44 AM

Hi folks,

Sorry for bombarding you with two updates in one day but I should have posted this a few days ago.

As you may know, I did a session with the Savage Worlds Official Events crew a couple of weeks ago. Well the actual play video is now available on YouTube. It's the Halloween adventure I wrote for the Hollerween Savage Worlds event, Section D and the Curse of Undeaf.

I'm the ugly one in the middle.

Second stretch goal reached!
over 5 years ago – Mon, Dec 07, 2020 at 07:04:12 AM

Hello all!

I'm very pleased to announce that the second stretch goal for The Secret Files of Section D has now been reached.

Projekt Moreau is written by Tavis Hill and takes a Section D team deep into the sinister dealings of the Third Reich. Below is a cover concept for illustrative purposes, the actual cover design has not yet been finalised.

With 8 days remaining on the Kickstarter we're confident of hitting more stretch goals, next up is the character archetypes to be added to the players book and the main setting book.

Happy gaming folks!

New rules for gun hands
over 5 years ago – Tue, Dec 01, 2020 at 05:16:45 PM

Most of the update posts I've put out have been about the progress of the Kickstarter so I thought it was about time I wrote a little bit about some of the new rules.

I've been working on some new Edges and a new Combat Status to greatly enhance the effectiveness of gun hands in Close Quarter Battle and also Snipers.

Two new Edges have been written for use with pistols and SMGs which allow much more cinematic play when a mixed melee / ranged battle is raging. We're still play testing, but we feel these new Edges will make for some really exciting battles and memorable moments. Think about John Wick or Jason Bourne scything through a horde of bad guys with nought but a pistol and their fists and you'll get the idea.

The new Combat Status is to be included as a setting rule and will require another of the new Edges to bring into play but makes Snipers a very effective ally, and a deadly enemy.

The setting already has new rules written for Encryption which are touched upon in the Taster Edition but  greatly expanded in the full version.  A huge amount of resource was spent by all sides during the late 30s, and through the WWII period, on intercepting and understanding enemy transmissions. Since it is such a crucial part of espionage we wanted to do it justice. (Did anybody spot the Enigma Machine in the Trouble in Tripoli maps I wonder?)

Another espionage trope is blowing stuff up! The Secret Files of Section D has expanded rules for the use of Plastic Explosive and other things that make big bangs! The rules include things like shaped charges and different detonation methods.

I hope you have enjoyed this little insight, watch this space for more updates!

Happy gaming!

You've got to love spies!
over 5 years ago – Tue, Dec 01, 2020 at 05:16:18 PM

I've spent much of the day researching the French Intelligence division Bureau Deuxieme. they were active up to the fall of France in 1940 and I have found strong links to Section D including actions around the Dunkirk evacuation but not much else.

It's strangely reassuring that I can't find much about them.

Gotta love spies :-)
